Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
As the one million death count looms in a pandemic that has surged around the planet, the WHO said the prospect of another million deaths was not unimaginable.

The sudden spike in case, crossing 4,000 which took place earlier this month was the second wave of the disease, he said.
'It wasn't in line with the sentiment of the Prime Minister. I accept my mistake and express regret. I'll wear a mask,' he said.
Measures are intended at reaching out to the poorest of the poor with food and money in hands so that they do not face difficulties in buying essential supplies and meeting essential needs.
