In a strategic political move ahead of Independence Day, the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch a large-scale 'Tiranga Yatra' campaign across the state from August 10 to 15, an initiative seen as a direct response to Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav’s much-talked-about 'PDA Pathshala.'
On the sixth anniversary of abrogation of Article 370 on Tuesday, Kashmir-centric political parties, including the ruling National Conference, staged protests across the valley demanding restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, while the BJP took out a ‘Tiranga Rally’ in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk to celebrate the occasion.
