Delhi on Thursday reported two more COVID-related deaths in the past 24 hours, including a 5-month-old infant and an 87-year-old man, highlighting the virus’s continued risk to both the very young and elderly.
West Bengal recorded 60 fresh Covid-19 cases, including a seven-month-old baby during the last 24 hours indicating a sharp rise in the number of patients affected by the deadly viral disease.
Kerala with 1,147 cases is the worst-hit state, followed by Maharashtra (424), Delhi (294), and Gujarat (223).
Following the detection of new COVID-19 cases in Durg and Raipur on Monday, the Chhattisgarh Health Department has gone on high alert, launching a comprehensive surveillance protocol to curb the potential spread of infections.
The 447 new fatalities include 151 from Maharashtra and 93 from Kerala.
Odisha now has 12,480 active cases and 9,66,928 patients have recovered from the disease, including 1,558 in the last 24 hours.
The State’s recovery rate currently stands at 97.98% while active cases account for 1.37% of total positive cases registered in Odisha.

Odisha has so far conducted over 1.62 crore sample tests, including 65,209 in the past 24 hours. The daily test positivity rate stands at 2.01 percent while the cumulative positivity of the samples tested stood at 6.05%.
