Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
However, the restrictions will not be applied on all-cargo flights and other flights specially approved services by the DGCA.
The decision came after a meeting of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia with education department officials.
The real number of infections is likely significantly higher than the confirmed cases, the government has said.
Addressing a press briefing, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that a 12-hour night curfew will be imposed across the state from 7 pm onward from Friday.
