Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to the victims of the gruesome 9/11 attacks that left about 3000 people dead.
In his message on the 15th anniversary of the attacks, Modi said: “11th September…two contrasting images come to the mind. Today we pray tributes to all those who lost their lives in gruesome 9/11 attacks.”
Nearly 3,000 people died on September 11, 2001 when 19 Al-Qaeda suicide bombers hijacked four passenger planes and crashed them into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington and a field in Pennsylvania.
The US is marking the anniversary with solemn services to commemorate the victims.
