The DG, who is on a three-day visit to the Valley, proceeded to the 181 Battalion, CRPF, at Charar-e-Sharif shortly after landing in Srinagar.
The meeting comes amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan after Indian Armed Forces successfully foiled a large-scale drone and missile attack launched by Pakistan on Thursday.
It is learnt that Shah has instructed DG BSF to ensure all sorts of safety measures for inhabitants of border areas.
It is learnt that the meeting was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Director General of Military Operations Lt Gen Pratik Sharma and heads of various security agencies.
The ADGP was accompanied by DIG UR Range Rayees Mohammad Bhat, SSP Reasi Ms. Mohita Sharma and other Police officers responsible for the Yatra arrangements, a police spokesman said.
The DG discussed operational aspects with unit commandants and interacted with troops commending their dedication and professionalism.
