Suvendu Adhikari paid a visit to Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay's College Street residence to attend an event organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the West Bengal Government.
Personnel from the Kolkata Police Disaster Management Group, the Fire and Emergency Services, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Civil Defence, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the army have been deployed.
"It is not a matter of controversy. We have time alloted for this issue in the budget session. We will see what comes out of it," Vijay Ojha said.
Calling it "only the beginning", the Chief Minister warned that any architect, planner or designer found neglecting supervisory responsibilities in future would face similar action.
Renovation or extension of existing residential houses, including repairs to verandas or staircases and the construction of additional kitchens or toilets, will not be affected, provided the required permissions have been obtained.
The party also accused the parliamentarian of working at the behest of the BJP to target the Chief Minister.
Prof. Brahmadev Patnaik, Dean of IVSAH and Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare) also addressed the event.
Stating that community participation is one of the guiding principles to address problems of vector borne diseases, the MCD said,
“If any atrocity is committed on a woman, stringent action should be taken against that person. The FIR was registered. She recorded her statement. I think there should be a proper investigation,” the Delhi Congress chief said after being asked about Maliwal’s case.
The demand may cross 8,000 MW during the ongoing summer this year.
