The BJP on Thursday urged Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to take action against several ministers and officials of Delhi government for allegedly undertaking foreign trips without following established norms.
In a memorandum submitted to the LG, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi assembly Vijender Gupta, alleged that a huge amount of money were spent in these "unauthorised visits" and demanded action against "the errant officials and ministers."
As per rule, ministers and officials of the Delhi government are required to seek approval of the Competent Authority before any foreign trips, he said.
Since these tours have been undertaken without approval of the competent authority, the expenditure incurred on these tours must be recovered from the concerned ministers and officials, he demanded.
"The foreign tours undertaken are clear violation of laid down rules and needs to be examined for past violations as well as future course of action," he alleged and sought strict disciplinary action against "all the defaulters."
Even after Delhi High Court verdict which clearly defined the jurisdiction of AAP government, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is taking arbitrary actions to destroy administrative structure of Delhi, alleged Gupta.
He further alleged that the government has cleverly been trying to mislead the people against the LG and the Centre through newspapers, TV channels and social media by recklessly wasting public money.
