Delhi Police today claimed that another juvenile domestic servant was working in the house of the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) in east district from where a domestic help couple was rescued yesterday.
Police claimed that the juvenile too was tortured by the 55-year old NRI, Arti Jain. Police arrested Aarti from her residence in Mayur Vihar Phase-I on the charges of causing hurt, illegal confinement, unlawful compulsory labour Act, threatening of the IPC.
"There was a 16-old boy who was earlier employed by the NRI woman. Jain had employed the boy to take care of her ill mother who was undergoing treatment. The juvenile reached the Pandav Nagar police station and registered a case against her, stating that Jain used to beat him up for small mistakes. Also, she started torturing him mentally by abusing him on several occasions," said a police official.
The juvenile also claimed that he used to get locked up and left alone in a room without food whenever Jain went out of the house. "She used to beat him up ruthlessly with sticks and brooms… We have now registered a separate case under the Juvenile Justice act against the woman at Pandav Nagar police station," said police.
Jain has six dogs which she used to let loose on the couple domestic help and the case was registered against her after one of her dogs bit one of her neighbours. Police arrested her for torturing her 24-year-old maid Bhagwati Oraon and her husband, Dilip (30), both the natives of New Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal.
