The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday canceled the primary membership of sacked minister Sandeep Kumar over the alleged sex scandal involving him, party sources said.

The AAP was under tremendous pressure from the opposition Bharatiya Jana Party (BJP) and the Congress who demanded the expulsion the tainted leader even after he was sacked as the Women and Child Development Minister following the tape being leaked.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday removed Kumar from the ministerial post, saying he had received an "objectionable" CD on him and there cannot be any compromise with propriety in public life.

The 36-year-old legislator from Sultanpur Majra has claimed that the man in the alleged sex tape was not him and that he was being targeted because he was a Dalit.

Kumar is the third minister who has been removed or forced out of the cabinet by Kejriwal since the formation of the government in February 2015.
