On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at Vijay Smarak, Fort William, Kolkata, to honour the courageous soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said the world recognized the indomitable valour and courage of Indian soldiers during the Kargil War.
"They will continue to inspire and motivate future generations of not only soldiers but also the youth of the nation," he said.
Team DESH, a non-profit dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces commemorated the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas with an event.
In 1999, the Indian Army defeated and chased away Pakistani forces that had crossed the Line of Control (LOC) and taken up positions in Kargil.
The event, conducted under the theme, ‘Honour Run’, was aimed at strengthening the bond between the Indian Army, veterans and the masses, especially the youth.
