In 1999, the Indian Army defeated and chased away Pakistani forces that had crossed the Line of Control (LOC) and taken up positions in Kargil.
The event, conducted under the theme, ‘Honour Run’, was aimed at strengthening the bond between the Indian Army, veterans and the masses, especially the youth.

On this day, the Indian Army ousted Pakistani intruders and regained Tiger Hill and other posts as part of Operation Vijay.
