Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
With this, India has once again taken its spot as the second-worst hit nation in terms of infections after the US.
The high court had recently advised the Gujarat government to impose a three-four day lockdown and take appropriate measures to check Covid-19 cases.
