Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
The committee's chief, Professor Mohammad Shahidullah, warned about a 'definite risk' of the infection spreading further in the country unless travel to and from India is not regulated.
It is to be noted that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier announced a six-day lockdown till Monday considering that the health care infrastructure at the national capital was crippled as COVID-19 cases began to spike at an alarming rate in the national capital.
