Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
The announcement came two days after the United States withdrew emergency use authorisations for both hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine.
Exuding confidence, the Prime Minister once again asserted that India will turn this Coronavirus crisis into an opportunity, while adding that the pandemic has taught the country to be self-reliant.
