Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
The top court has granted one-week time to Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to file an affidavit clarifying Centre's stand and posted the matter for further hearing on September 1.
The record high recoveries have ensured that the active cases of coronavirus infection, the “actual caseload” of the country, comprises only 22.24 per cent of the total cases.
