However, civic body health officials say that despite a drop in the number of containment zones, the KMC’s primary health centres are attracting a large number of patients suffering from Covid related symptoms and hence the patients with other ailments are being neglected due to shortage of staff.
“There are also affected Covid patients in residential flats. In this case, that particular flat will be treated as a micro containment zone. We will, however, keep vigilance to ensure the patients are following isolation guidelines and not leave their apartments. This is important because if a Covid infected person steps out of their flat and use the common elevator or staircase, the infection can spread to other residents in the housing complex,”
“The focus will also be in wards where Omicron cases were detected. This is a highly contagious variant and hence can spread quickly. We need to set up the contain zones here and find out ways to help the families where members have contracted the disease.In this case, councillors, like in 2020, can help reach essential items to these families
