A body of a woman was found hanging from a mango tree early on Tuesday morning at Lahujgram village under Raiganj Police station areas of North Dinajpur district.
The family members have alleged that she was hanged after murdering. According to locals, Padma Rani Das, 34 a housewife, early this morning was found hanging from a mango tree allegedly with her feet landed down at the ground.
After being informed, police turned up and rescued the body. The body was handed over to the family after the autopsy.

The daughter of the deceased, Babita Das is appearing her madhyamik examination from Shankarpur High Madrasa School and has failed to appear for her Tuesday’s examinations due to her mother’s death.
Babita Das said, “My father, Surya Mahan Das is a daily wage labourer. He had gone missing since he had gone to work in Rajasthan one and half years back. We are now left with only two brothers and a sister. My elder brother is a daily wage labourer. He stays in another state for work. My younger brother is a primary school student.
My mother used to look after our family by running a tea stall in the village. Last night when I was studying, Swapan Das one of our villagers came to meet my mother. Then he engaged in an altercation with my mother over some reason. Later, at late night we found that my mother was not present at home. Then we searched her and could not trace her anywhere.
on Tuesday morning, when I was going to sit for my examination some of the villagers informed me that my mother was found hanging. We suspect that my mother was hanged after killing.
We demand the police to arrest the criminals immediately. IC Raiganj Police station, Sumanta Biswas said, “The body was rescued and has been sent for post mortem. The reason of death is still uncertain. We have started an investigation over the incident.
