Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on the birth anniversary of Roy Saheb Thakur Panchanan Barma, wrote in her X handle in Bengali that the government is responsible for the development of Rajbanshi culture and to make the memory of Thakur Panchanan Barma eternal.
She met the Trinamul Congress chairperson and chief minister Mamata Banerjee at the state Legislative Assembly on Thursday and submitted her resignation letter. The resignation has not yet been accepted, it’s learnt.

International Matua Parishad, the global association of Matua community, has given an ultimatum and deadline to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to apologise for her recent mispronunciation of the names of the two spiritual leaders of the community.

According to the CM, the track record of the central investigation agency was not satisfactory. Mentioning several cases, she referred to the Rabindranath Tagore Nobel medal theft, killing of 14 persons in Nandigram, Netai massacre, the Tapasi Malik case in Singur, and said there was no headway in those cases.
“Why was there no FIRs filed for 48 hours since the incident happened? People are scared out of their wits and at such a time she goes to visit the victims' families with her cabal of TMC goons, including Anubrata Mondal who is responsible for the murder of Dubrajpur IC, Amit Chakraborty, and for other criminal acts.”
The inspector in charge of Rampurhat Police Station, Tridib Pramanik has been suspended after her visit to the village. The chief minister has also told the state DGP, Manoj Malviya, to immediately direct all district police superintendents and police commissioners of the state to seize illegal arms and ammunition within the next ten days.
“There can just be no credibility for the SIT, headed by Gyanwant Singh, suffering judicial taint and condemnation. SIT is being taken as a cover-up operation to provide an escape route to rogue elements. ‘Men Friday’ in probe are cut out for 'hatchet work' and not fair independent investigation.”
