Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on the birth anniversary of Roy Saheb Thakur Panchanan Barma, wrote in her X handle in Bengali that the government is responsible for the development of Rajbanshi culture and to make the memory of Thakur Panchanan Barma eternal.
She met the Trinamul Congress chairperson and chief minister Mamata Banerjee at the state Legislative Assembly on Thursday and submitted her resignation letter. The resignation has not yet been accepted, it’s learnt.

International Matua Parishad, the global association of Matua community, has given an ultimatum and deadline to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to apologise for her recent mispronunciation of the names of the two spiritual leaders of the community.

The state government will set up a Drug Laboratory to check the sale of fake drugs. Miss Banerjee also asked the transport department to arrange old buses for serving as Sufal Bangla outlets. She directed the Enforcement Branch to increase its vigil and closely monitor the markets so that traders do not increase price scrupulously.
“Price hike is skyrocketing in the country and people are struggling. The central government has no planning at all. It is your (the Centre’s) work to chalk out strategies to reduce price hike and solve the related issues. If they want, I can provide my suggestions. It is a burning issue in the country. Everything has become pricy,”

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, currently on a tour of North Bengal, is said to be concerned about the inter-party violence inside the House primarily because it conveys an unpalatable signal about the state-of-affairs in West Bengal. The timing of the violence is unfortunate because it occurs on the eve of the Bengal Global Business Summit.
