Three students of the state have given a stellar performance in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination results this year by making it to the country toppers’ lists.
The West Bengal schools recorded a success rate of 99.98 per cent and boys have done better than girls with a pass percentage of 99.98.
In Delhi ICSE, 99.93 per cent of students of class 12 passed the exam. A total of 94,011 students have passed the CISCE class 10 across the country. The passing percentage of students in class 10 is 99.76 per cent which includes 53.67 per cent boys and 46.33 per cent girls.
Last year, amid the pandemic the top court had asked boards to determine and declare Class XII exam results on the basis of earlier assessment of students.
Last week, the board had postponed both class 10 and 12 exams.
Students have suffered a jolt at a crucial stage in their search of learning. Online learning is no substitute for conventional classroom instruction primarly because not all students can afford hi-tech equipment at home, let alone being computer-savvy.
The study was conducted across 1400+ students, 60% of whom were in Metros and Tier 1 cities. 40% of the respondents were from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
