Voting at morning colleges associated with the university begun at 8.30 a.m. on Friday while in the evening colleges it started at 3 p.m.
In its defence, ABVP cited videos of the NSUI workers carrying sticks assaulting students.
Presenting videos as evidence, members of ABVP claimed that workers of other organisations were involved in the act as they were seen carrying sticks and assaulting the students.
According to an ABVP member, they were engaged in a peaceful campaign when a group of men arrived and attacked the students.
Further, saying that the Parliamentary panel had found a backlog of 4,500 posts in DU, but the university has not paid any heed to it, the Delhi University Teachers Forum has demanded the varsity administration to fill the backlog posts within a time limit.
"A complaint was received last night against one Ratan Lal, Prof of History at Hindu College, DU, regarding a deliberate and malicious post on Facebook intended to outrage religious feelings by insulting a religion or religious beliefs," Deputy Commissioner of Police Sagar Singh Kalsi said.
The DDMA had announced to reopen higher educational institutions and coaching centres, along with schools for classes 9-12, from Monday.
Other institutes like Jamia Millia Islamia have however said that they would wait for UGC guidelines and then decide on reopening.
The admissions against this list will begin from 10 am on December 10 at respective teaching centres, as per the official notice.
