Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
A total of 75,516 people were detected Covid positive till now and the total death toll is 1,678 while currently there are 21,108 active cases.
The approval for conducting phase 2 and 3 clinical trials by the SII was granted by DCGI Dr VG Somani late Sunday night after a thorough evaluation based on the recommendations of the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) on COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the CM's daughter Padmavathi has also tested positive for the virus, while his son Vijayendra, has tested negative.
