Other states that have reported significant case numbers include Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104), Gujarat (83), and Karnataka (47).
The total COVID-19 caseload of the country has risen to 4,50,26,261. These also include the JN.1 Covid variant cases.
According to the ministry, Karnataka reported 61 cases, followed by Maharashtra 35 and Kerala 25 cases.
The Covid caseload rose to 4,50,21,383 with the addition of the new cases of infections.
Reacting to a Twitter post on the study, Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden said "President Trump doesn't care about you. He doesn't even care about his own supporters."
The minister had tested positive on October 13 for Covid. He was a three-time MLA from Papanasam in Thanjavur district.
Taking to Twitter, Irani said: "It is rare for me to search for words while making an announcement; hence here's me keeping it simple - I've tested positive for COVID and would request those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest."
