Babul Supriyo holds high level meeting in Asansol

Two-times MP Babul Supriyo, who is now a state minister, has been camping in Asansol since yesterday and discussed election strategy with local TMC leaders in a meeting here today, while Shatrughan Sinha claimed that the BJP will not be able to cross the 200 mark in the general elections.

“I have come here to script history and want to know whether Narendra Modi considers himself an insider or an outsider in Varanasi,” asked Mr Sinha after filing his papers and refuting the BJP claim that he is an outsider in Asansol.

The Bollywood actor-turned-politician said, long back people had approached him to join the Trinamul Congress but he had not taken the offer seriously. “At that time Babul (Supriyo) was the sitting MP from Asansol and with the BJP. I did not want to come in confrontation with him as he too is from the artist fraternity.”
