The halt station will be located between Mohanpur and Khairiyadih stations in the Deoghar–Hansdiha section under the Eastern Railway’s Asansol Division. The project aims to enhance rail access to one of Jharkhand’s prominent spiritual and tourist destinations.
Mr Dubey stated that the new halt station would benefit passengers, promote tourism and support regional development. Fulfilling a long-standing demand of local residents, the station will provide direct rail connectivity to nearby villages including Hindolabaran, Bara Jharna, Chhota Jharna, Satighat, Kharaiyadih and Sing Raddy. This is expected to reduce dependence on distant stations and ease daily travel for students, workers and local residents.
The proposed Tirikut Parvat Halt Station will be developed at an estimated cost of over ₹3 crore. A comprehensive development plan has been prepared to improve passenger convenience and accessibility. Key infrastructure provisions include a high-level platform with passenger shelter, an approach road, a combined booking and waiting hall with seating arrangements, drinking water facilities, separate toilets for men and women, adequate lighting and fans, and accessibility features for Divyangjan.
Trikutachal, located about 10 km from Deoghar town, is a major historical, spiritual and eco-tourism landmark in Jharkhand. Known for its three sacred peaks symbolising Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, the hill is associated with ancient spiritual traditions. Its proximity to Baidyanath Dham, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, attracts pilgrims throughout the year.
The Trikutachal Mahadev Temple, ancient meditation caves, ropeway facility and scenic natural surroundings make the site a significant spiritual and tourism centre, witnessing heavy footfall, particularly during the Shravan month and festive seasons.
The Mayurakshi River originates in the Trikut Hills at Deoghar and flows through Jharkhand and West Bengal before joining the Bhagirathi–Hooghly river system. The river plays an important role in irrigation and regional development.
The laying of the foundation stone for Tirikut Parvat Halt Station marks the beginning of improved rail connectivity, enhanced religious tourism, greater employment opportunities and overall socio-economic development in the region.
