Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy got a “pleasant surprise” as he bumped into Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the Delhi airport on Friday and discussed the outcome of his Ayodhya visit.

“I had the pleasant surprise of meeting SriSri Ravi Shankar in the Delhi airport just now & to briefly discuss the outcome his Ayodhya visit,” tweeted the Rajya Sabha MP.

He also accused the Congress party of being nervous that the Ram Temple might soon come up in Ayodhya.

“I see nervousness in Congi (Congress) that Hindus and most Muslims will agree to Ram mandir in Ayodhya. Congi (Congress) hope: somehow rubbish judges’ status,” he said in another tweet.

On day two of his Uttar Pradesh tour to mediate in the contentious Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said he was confident that the solution to the dispute will be in national interest.

Addressing the media after meeting members of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) in Lucknow, he said: “We are holding dialogue and discussions over the issue and I am confident that something good will come out of it.”

Meanwhile, Swamy had on Thursday urged Hindus to “wake up” and take action to “restore the holiest temple on the birthplace of Ram”.

In a tweet, the BJP leader said: “Hindus wake up! Muslims leaders are refusing to give up on a masjid, that is shiftable, to restore the holiest temple on the birthplace of Ram.”

Known for his controversial statements, the Rajya Sabha MP had last month said that the construction of the proposed Ram temple in Ayodhya will commence soon and it will be ready by next Diwali.
