Some more days still to go, to hit the floors. Yet, Neeraj Pandey&’s MS Dhoni: The Untold Story seems to be spinning a safe bet for the makers.
Setting a new benchmark in making a film about a cricket legend and creating a first of its kind biopic, Rs.80 crore was said to have been spent on the production of the film. However, way before its release, it has recovered Rs.60 crore, by earning Rs.45 crore for its satellites rights and Rs.15 crore from all brands that have been involved in the film, sources said.
The movie has garnered a lot of attraction for tie-ups among brands. Apart from Rs.15 crore, the brands associated with the film will be spending more on advertising and promotions as well, the sources said.
The makers wanted to make the movie as real as possible and bring the legend&’s untold story alive, hence the shots have been carried out at real locations, which have strong relevance in Dhoni’s life. Some of the shots are taken at his house in Ranchi, in his school, at Kharagpur station where Dhoni was stationed as the TT.
Its trailer has got remarkable response from everywhere. No other trailer had received such an overwhelming response making the trailer the most loved trailer in Hindi cinema, the sources claim.
The two songs of the movie, Besabriyaan and Kaun Tujhe, have been attracting an “amazing response,” the sources added.
Produced by Arun Pandey (Inspired Entertainment) and Fox Star studios, the film is all set to release on September 30.
