Seems like 2018 is a year of clashes and how to avoid the same! But that is not the case with Aamir Khan’s Thug of Hindostan and Rajinikanth’s 2.0 as industry trackers speculate a mega clash between the two films this Diwali.

Yes, you heard it right. 2.0 and ‘Thugs…’ might just have a face off at box office what is being touted as a mega clash between two giants.

Both of the films are among the most expensive films of Indian cinema with powerhouses of actors attached to it, thus making it one of the biggest clashes in the history of Bollywood.

But are the two films really clashing?

The makers of Aamir’s period heist film already announced the release date of the film sometime back and now it seems like 2.0 is also interested in the same slot as Thugs.

2.0 is eyeing for a Diwali release, which is one of the biggest festivals of India, and a perfect opportunity for films to cash in at the box office for extended weekends.

And way before the actual clash between the film the team of the both the films are already battling with each other to get a solo release on Diwali.

According to reports in the Deccan Chronicle, 2.0 is looking for a Diwali release date but Mr Perfectionist Aamir is in no mood to compromise the release date of his own film.

“The makers want to release ‘2.0’ during Diwali, so they tried to discuss things with Aamir Khan as his movie ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is scheduled to release on the same day. However, Aamir said a resounding no when they first approached him. The actor feels Diwali is the perfect time to release ‘Thugs’ and hence, he is holding on to the date,” a source close to the portal revealed.

Considering the fact that both the films feature two of the biggest stars of Indian cinema in the lead roles, the makers must come to a mutual ground and that is where Rajinikanth stepped in.

“After Rajinikanth made a call, the talks have resumed and both Lyca and Aamir along with Yash Raj Films are figuring if something can be done,” the source said.

Clash or no clash, the two films are indeed the most awaited releases of 2018 and fans can’t help but to control their excitement for the films.

But wait. If there is indeed a clash between ‘Thugs…’ and 2.0 then there is a storm approaching the box office this Diwali and it will one competition to witness between these two films.

Rajinikanth’s 2.0 also stars Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead roles whereas YRF’s ‘Thugs…’ stars Aamir, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles.
