More than 650 hectares of Uttarakhand land in grip of forest fires
Though no loss of life has been reported so far, officials say with the rise in mercury level the blaze is going out of control.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the office building of Rural Development and Migration Commission in Pauri on Friday.
Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat said, “The main purpose of setting up migration commission is to prevent migration by developing them. I am hopeful that after the formation of the commission, it will succeed in its mission.”
The state government will also be studying the trend of reverse migration reported in some areas and aims at developing Gram Panchayats as growth center.

Uttarakhand Rural Development and Migration Commission vice president S S Negi said, ”The migration commission’s website, www.uttarakhandpalayanayog.com, has started functioning. It will be easy to get suggestions from people through the website. We have completed survey in all the villages of Uttarakhand. The survey has gathered information on various facts related to migration.”
