In the first ever incident of stone pelting at Army personnel in Jammu, miscreants of an adjoining illegal colony last night hurled stones at a sentry post of the Sunjwan Military Station that was earlier this month targeted by terrorists.

Although incidents of stone pelting at security forces have become a daily affair in the Kashmir valley, but such incident in the Hindu dominated Jammu is being viewed seriously.

The police has registered an FIR and has identified some of the miscreants.

What is being seen as a serious development is that the stone pelting was reported on the post number 12 which is adjacent to the area from where the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists infiltrated into the strategic military station.

The Army lodged a FIR and the police swung into action to scan the area and identify the culprits.

The military station was first attacked in 2003 by terrorists who entered the camp from the Bathinda colony that has come up in the forest area.

More than a dozen soldiers were killed in that attack.
