Mamata to address twin rallies in Asansol on Saturday
Law minister Moloy Ghatak, chairman of AMC, Amarnath Chatterjee and other top TMC leaders inspected both the venues in Asansol and Kulti, today.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to visit Raiganj on 21 February and hold a meeting with officials of the North Dinajpur district administration at Rabindra Bhaban in the town.
In the meeting, the CM will review the progresses of all development work initiated by the administration. Engineers from different construction divisions have also been invited to the meeting, it is learnt.
In her two-day public appearance, 21 and 22 February, Miss Banerjee will be distributing cheques among beneficiaries of different schemes, it is learnt.

“The CM is supposed to distribute bicycles under the Sabuj Sathi scheme. She will also allocate compensation cheques among farmers whose crops were damaged in the recent floods in the district.
She may hand over keys to some of the beneficiaries who recently received ‘pakka’ houses from the government. In addition, she will also inaugurate a number of roads, bridges and buildings, constructed with funds allotted by the North Bengal Development department and the Public Works Department,” official sources said.
The Sahakari Sabhadhipati of North Dinajpur Zilla Parishad, Purnendu Dey said, “We are preparing a list of beneficiaries who will receive the aid from the CM. She will be inaugurating a number of completed projects and will also lay the foundation stone for a number of other new projects in the district.”
Superintendent of Police of North Dinajpur, Shyam Singh, said they have already inspected the site for the administrative meeting at Rabindra Bhaban in Raiganj. “We also inspected the site for the public meeting on the premises of the Hemtabad Police station.
Adequate security measures will be in place for her trip,” he said. North Dinajpur DM Aiyesha Rani, said, “We have been reported that the CM will be holding an administrative meeting in Rabinda Bhaban and a public meeting at the Hemtabad Police station on 21 and 22 February. All arrangements have being made to make both the meetings successful.”
