2 nabbed for extortion, promise for govt job
Two individuals were arrested on charges of extortion for promising jobs in the state food and supplies department.
The Haryana government has decided to set up five new police stations by upgrading the existing police posts in the Ambala Range for strengthening the law and order and effectively dealing with crime in the state.
While stating this on Saturday, Director General of Police (DGP) Manoj Yadava said that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved a proposal of Home Department for upgrading five Police posts to Police stations in the Ambala Range.
These police stations will be established at Gandhi Nagar, Yamunanagar, Sector-9 Ambala, Krishna Gate, Thanesar, Kurukshetra, City Pehowa, Kurukshetra and Sector-17, HUDA, and Jagadhri.

The DGP said that government has also approved 331 posts for the new police stations on which an annual expenditure of over Rs 14.48 crore would be incurred. Each police station would have five posts of Inspectors, 12 sub-inspectors, 24 assistant sub-inspectors, 54 head constables, 216 constables and class IV staff.
He also thanked the CM for giving the consent for new police stations in the Ambala Range as this move would help in further strengthening the law and order in view of the increasing population and rapid urbanisation.
