Lambasting Congress, BharatiyaJanta Party (BJP) has asked the party to refrain from baseless allegations.

In a joint statement here on Sunday BJP cabinet minister’s Suresh Bhardwaj (Education minister) and Govind Thakur (Forest Minister) condemned the statement of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Harshwardhan Chauhan on transfers of employees in the state.

Congress leaders should positively contribute in the efforts of state government for the development of state instead of issuing such baseless statements, they advocated.

Refuting the allegations they said that 10 thousand Demi Official (DO) letters were not issued and most of the transfers were related to the problems of the people.

“Such allegations without inquiring the facts only reflect the desperation of the Congress from gruelling defeat in the elections. It was the then congress government, which had made it a regular affair to transfer employees favouring near and dear ones. Employees were harassed and questions were raised frequently on Congress government. Thousands of transfers were made in the election year in haste, which irritated employees,” they alleged.

The Ministers said that most of the transfers made in the present government were already under consideration and pipeline and were undertaken only on administrative and policy requirements after getting approval of the Chief Minister.

The unnecessary transfers of employees in the regime of previous government needed to be corrected and which is also the responsibility of the government, they added.

They clarified that there were several pretexts pertaining to transfers that include like employees completing their tenure in tribal, sub-cadre and remote areas, medical emergency and other humanitarian grounds could not be ignored.

“So these decisions become crucial and need immediate attention. Employees serving at one posting for many years also needed to be transferred for the administrative requirement.
