Voting in Japan's general election began on Sunday morning, with a total of 1,284 candidates competing for 465 seats in the House of Representatives, the powerful lower chamber of parliament.
Voting was held in 18,274 polling stations from 7 am to 6 pm. Of these, 2,055 polling stations have been earmarked as sensitive.
Voters in the rest of the seven districts, including Thirussur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kannur, Wayanad and Kasaragod would use their franchise on December 11.
It was the modest, but smooth beginning of the polling at 268 polling centers in this assembly constituency of the South-eastern Rajasthan at 07:00am, however, it gained momentum later setting a brisk pace in the voting.
The ECI said this significant participation is a testament to the robust democratic spirit and civic engagement of the people in the region.
The Trinamul Congress held a press conference in the evening which was addressed by two senior ministers Bratya Basu and Chandrima Bhattacharya.
This could be the lowest polling percentage in this elections in UP as in earlier phases the voting was recorded between 58 % to 60%.
The newly included areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts, which were earlier in the Jammu Lok Sabha constituency, witnessed brisk polling.
Kejriwal and his wife Sunita Kejriwal cast their votes during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha polls. Apart from Sunita Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister was accompanied by his two children and father.
