Government buildings, sewage treatment plants, water treatment plants, courts, and foreign embassies are being guarded by additional forces, including paramilitary personnel, said an official. Leaves of all Delhi Police personnel were cancelled on Thursday night.
In a continued effort to curb illegal infiltration, Assam Police intercepted and deported multiple Bangladeshi nationals attempting to enter India unlawfully.
The intruders, identified as Md Noor Islam, Md Imran, Yasmin Akhtar, Ishmo Tara Akhtar, and Md Babul Hussain, were later deported to Bangladesh.
Last June, Beijing imposed a sweeping national security law on Hong Kong that targets secession, subversion, terrorism and foreign collusion in the city’s affairs. Over 100 people have been arrested under the national security law.
The DGP cautioned that there might be provocations by the anti-national and anti- social elements during this period and as such all cops deployed at check posts and other strategic places have to be alert.
