At the helm of this project is filmmaker Mike Flanagan known for his mastery of horror storytelling. Flanagan has written, will direct, and is producing this new chapter which is being described as a "radical new take" on 'The Exorcist' universe.
For now, the studio hasn’t made any official casting announcements. Still, industry insiders suggest Johansson is being considered to play Mother Gothel.
Johansson recalls being constantly offered parts that revolved around how attractive or desirable her character was often shaped entirely by what the male characters needed or wanted.
Brushing off any suggestion of drama or deeper implications, Johansson added, “Nothing surprises me these days. But yeah, I’ve got a lot of love to give, what can I say?”
She added that school meals brought her parents a sense of relief: “No parent should have to worry about where their children’s next meal is going to come from.”
"There has always been pressure on actors to stay thin. There's a scene in one of my favourite movies, 'All About Eve', where Bette Davis is circling around the room, horribly upset about something, and she picks up chocolate... puts it down... picks it up again... puts it down again... finally, she gives in and eats it, but only after a huge struggle!"
