India saw a slight dip in the new Covid cases in the last 24 hours as 9,111 were reported against the previous day's count of 10,093, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.
Two fresh fatalities took the death toll to 8,433 while the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) at 0.30% continued to remain below 1% for almost two months.
The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 13,64,681 tests being conducted.
The state on Sunday had reported 585 cases while it recorded 602 on Saturday, implying that the pandemic is now on a steady downward trajectory in the coastal State. Of the 30 districts, seven did not report any infection in the last 24 hours.
A total of 86,21,715 sample tests have been conducted in the state so far including 23,173 on Saturday. Odisha has reported a 3.92% positivity rate while 96.08% samples have tested negative for COVID-19.
Since 1st October 2020, the nation has seen an unabated decline in Case Fatality Rate.
India’s average daily new cases also show a clear downward slip in the last 5 weeks.
The national Recovery Rate has further grown to 96.36%.
The country’s overall coronavirus caseload now stands at 1,02,24,303 with 2,68,581 active Covid-19 cases.The active caseload has remained below the three lakh mark for the eighth consecutive day.
