In the revised guidelines, the Centre allowed all the states and Union Territories to decide whether parental consent is required by schools to carry on physical classes.

"Some of the universities are able to use separate buildings for girls, to teach the girls separately. But a number of universities do not have buildings, they can change the time of classes," according to acting minister Abdul Baqi Haqani
