The discussions centered on enhancing multimodal connectivity, improving logistics efficiency, and ensuring alignment with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (PMGS NMP).
The NPG evaluated five projects consisting of two Road/Highway projects of MoRTH, two Rail projects and one Metro Rail Project of MoHUA for their conformity to the PM GatiShakti principles of integrated multimodal infrastructure, last-mile connectivity to economic and social nodes and ‘Whole of Government’ approach.
These proposals include one road/highway project, one Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP), three railway capacity augmentation projects, and two PM MITRA textile parks.
The 89th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) evaluated 8 infrastructure projects in the Road, Railway, and Metro sectors to enhance multimodal connectivity and logistics efficiency in alignment with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Friday.

The 85th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG), evaluated five projects under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP). They comprised two railways and three highway development projects.
Out of these 228 projects, the number of projects falling under different ministries are MNRE (10), MoHUA (12), MoPNG (4), MoPSW (3), MoR (85), MoRTH (108), NICDC (12), MoCA (3).
The region is home to key industrial hubs, including the Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station and Ballarpur Paper Mills, and serves coal belts operated by Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL) in Chandrapur.
