The 100th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG), convened on Friday to evaluate infrastructure projects of Road, Transport & Highways with the focus on enhancing multimodal connectivity and logistics efficiency in alignment with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.
The NPG evaluated five projects consisting of two Road/Highway projects of MoRTH, two Rail projects and one Metro Rail Project of MoHUA for their conformity to the PM GatiShakti principles of integrated multimodal infrastructure, last-mile connectivity to economic and social nodes and ‘Whole of Government’ approach.

A 65 km quadruple railway line is proposed between Hosapete and Ballari to decongest one of Karnataka’s busiest industrial corridors. The project will expand freight capacity, improve reliability, and support the region’s mining, steel, and power industries.
The 230.5 km Gondia-Jabalpur rail doubling project will boost line capacity across five districts, easing congestion and facilitating faster freight and passenger movement. It will strengthen a key logistics link between eastern and central India.
The 50.2 km widening of NH-921 will enhance connectivity between Rajasthan, Delhi NCR, and Haryana. The project will reduce travel time, improve safety, and spur trade and employment in the region.
A 13.37 km six-lane elevated corridor with service roads is planned to ease congestion in Patna. Equipped with underpasses, redesigned intersections, and grade separators, it will improve mobility, safety, and urban connectivity.
The 42.8 km North–South metro corridor will link Prahladpura to Todi Mod through 36 stations, improving access to key areas like Sitapura and SMS Hospital. It will decongest roads, cut emissions, and promote transit-oriented urban growth.
The meeting was chaired by Pankaj Kumar, Joint Secretary, Logistics, Department for Promotion of Industry, and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
