A wave of celebration swept across North Bengal on Monday as the region secured significant representation in the newly formed BJP government, triggering jubilant scenes among party workers and supporters from Malda to Cooch Behar and Siliguri.
Officials of various agencies, including the BSF, SSB, NDRF and other disaster management authorities, also attended the meeting, which focused on flood control measures, identification of vulnerable spots, and coordination among departments ahead of the rainy season.
