Two-time world championships medalist Mirabai Chanu will take part in the 49kg category. The Commonwealth Championships gold medal winner Bindyarani Devi, will be in action in the 55kg event.
Mirabai Chanu will train at St Louis' SQUAT University under Dr Aron Horschig and will focus on rehabilitation and strength training ahead of the upcoming Asian Games 2023, scheduled in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8.
Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu finished sixth in the 49kg weight category at the Asian Weightlifting Championships, here on Friday.
The 28-year old Manipuri, Chanu thus earned the distinction of being the first person to take the honour twice.
India had their best medal haul of seven in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and that has raised the expectations from Indian athletes for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.
India won 10 medals in weightlifting, containing three gold, three silver and four bronze awards.
