A total of 64.64 crore votes were polled in 2024 Lok Sabha elections as compared to 61.4 crore in the last general elections in 2019, as per the Election Commission (ECI).
In the review report approved by the CPI-M state committee, it has reportedly been stated that the basic votes of the party have substantially gone to the BJP. In places where the BJP has no influence, the CPI-M votes have gone to the BJP.
According to official sources here, Police commissioners of Lucknow and Prayagraj have been changed. IPS Amarendra Kumar Sengar will be the new Police Commissioner of Lucknow and Tarun Gaba has been appointed Police Commissioner Prayagraj.
Addressing a press conference, Rai said the election results, especially of Uttar Pradesh, are being discussed in the entire country as the opposition-backed INDIA bloc excelled by winning more than 200 seats.
She also said that Congress does not have the strength to take on the BJP in the saffron-ruled states in North India.
The SP president has already announced to give 11 seats to Congress and 7 to RLD , and will contest the remaining 62 seats in UP under the umbrella of INDIAlliance.
The theme song of the campaign in a video of 2 minutes and 10 seconds was released by party’s National President JP Nadda.
A meeting was convened by the Congress’ National Alliance Committee’s convenor Mukul Wasnik with the leaders of the SP in this regard.
Addressing party workers present at the wall-writing campaign, the Chief Minister said that this initiative has to be taken to new heights to ensure success like the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
