It is likely that the party would deliberate on candidates about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The announcement was made by the party's senior general secretary, Imran Reza Ansari, becoming the first party to announce its candidate for one of the five Lok Sabha seats in the Union territory.
Congress MP Jairam Ramesh confirmed the seat-sharing deal with the AAP in Delhi, adding that the alliance will be made official later in the day.
With the Lok Sabha election drawing close the Congress government in the state is under tremendous pressure from the Opposition over the six poll guarantees it promised before Assembly elections in the state.

The meeting came days after the NAC held deliberations with various party units including UP and Maharashtra over the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
During the visit, the AAP convener is scheduled to address public gatherings , and take part in the party workers programmes.
