The Bengaluru police have solved the shocking kidnapping and murder case of a 13-year-old boy and arrested the two accused after shooting them in the legs during an encounter on Friday.
“The matter came to light on Sunday when the minor went missing from her home in Church Colony in Sangam Vihar,” said Ankit Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).
Last Monday, he was dragged into a four wheeler and whisked away. Later, kin of the victim received phone calls demanding the ransom.
The Pathanamthitta Principal Sessions Court on Friday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a 19-year-old COVID-19 patient while she was being transported to a first-line treatment centre in 2020.
The convict, a Tamil Nadu man, Sundar alias Sundararajan, had kidnapped and murdered a seven-year-old boy in 2009 following the inability of the victims’ parents to meet the demand of the ransom of Rs 5 lakh.
The absconding accused was wanted in kidnapping and rape case for the last three years.
The accused constable, with three of his associates, had earlier kidnapped and robbed the same victim of Rs. 1 lakh about 10 months ago.
The culprit stated that he was badly in need of money and hence planned his kidnapping to extort money from his father.
All these policemen are accused of kidnapping a sales tax agent, robbing him, and extorting money from him through online payment mode.
