In Darjeeling district 598 people received the vaccines (99.6 percent) at five facilities against the target of 500. Jalpaiguri district vaccinated 285 beneficiaries (57 percent) at five centers but the target was 500.
The vaccination sessions at all the 34 hospitals were completed by the scheduled time.
Vaccination is allowed only for those who are above the age of 18 years. Women who are pregnant or not sure of their pregnancy and lactating mothers should not receive the vaccine, it said.
