“It is Rahul Gandhi’s policy to lie, lie aloud repeatedly. He has started a new tradition of telling lies every day. But the people have identified him as a lie-manufacturing factory,” Shah fumed while addressing a rally in Karaikal in the poll-bound Union Territory of Puducherry.
Making her first official visit after assuming office, Amarasuriya, who had her graduation in New Delhi’s Hindu College, is on a three-day state visit to India from October 16 to 18.
Shah further noted that the fishing community has suffered the most since their villages were washed away by the sea, due to which thousands of families had to migrate in search of employment.
"The Government of India attaches high priority to the issue of Indian fishermen and civilian prisoners in Pakistan’s custody and has urged the Government of Pakistan to expedite the release and repatriation of all Indian prisoners, including fishermen who remain in Pakistan’s custody," the MEA said in a statement.
The Indian Coast Guard in coordination with Marine Police at Paradip provided shelter to the boat and its crew on humanitarian grounds. The crew was reported to be safe and healthy. The boat along with 20 fishermen was formally handed over by ICGS ‘Sarojini Naidu’ to Bangladesh Coast Guard ship ‘Shadhin Bangla’ at IMBL on 09 January 2022.
Indian Coast Guard Ship Sarojini Naidu undertook successful repatriation of one Bangladeshi Fishing Boat ‘AllaharDaan’ along with 20 Bangladeshi fishermen at Indo-Bangladesh International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), said coast guard personnel.
The marine fishermen, who had undertaken the sea voyage on 7 December from Bangladesh coast, had gone without food for a week during the course of the worst nightmare of their life after the fishing vessel had developed technical snag and was rendered unfit to move ahead.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said officials from the Consulate General of India in Jaffna, have met the detained fishermen and were providing them with all necessary support.
The offline mobile application can be downloaded free by fishermen and boat crew members so that they can clearly know the GPS locations and the boundaries of the no-fishing zones.
