India is the world‘s third-largest energy consuming country, thanks to rising incomes and improving standards of living. Indeed, energy use has doubled since 2000, with 80 per cent of demand still met by coal, oil and solid biomass. More elaborately, coal is the country‘s top energy source with a share of 46 per cent in 2021, followed by oil (23 per cent) and biomass (21 per cent)

DDC partners with RMI India for renewable energy solutions in Delhi

RMI India will support DDC Delhi in tapping into global best practices and enable Delhi to become the leading state in terms of Rooftop Solar (RTS) adoption. Both organisations will also be hosting a National Consultation on Delhi’s new Solar Policy in collaboration with the Power Department at the India International Centre (IIC) on 12 May.
