The Minister said a two-day workshop on Steel slag technology would be held next week in Jammu and Kashmir followed by other states and UTs as well, aimed at sensitising engineers and officials from road construction departments about its application and benefits.
The Minister said that the initiative, which began from Bhaderwah in district Doda of Jammu and Kashmir with lavender cultivation and aroma-based enterprises, has evolved into a national success story.

Interacting with people in Basohli, the Minister said that the J&K UT authorities have been asked to send a proposal for declaring Basohli a heritage town in a proper format so that it can be taken up by the Centre.
